Ford Ka – Information & Reviews

The Ka is a popular choice of car for new drivers – especially singles and couples. It’s cheap to insure and very economical. For a little more space and those with family consider the larger Ford Fiesta. The Ka was launched in 1996 as a City car. Ford have a habit of placing a car in the Top 10 best first cars for new driver lists – the Ka doesn’t make our top 10 – but it’s certainly up there with the best. The second generation Ford Ka was revealed to the public in 2006 through the James Bond movie – Quantum of Solace. The MkIII Ford Ka was released 10 years later in 2016 – for the first time the Ka became available with 5 doors.

We are in the process of negotiating with a major independent reviewer of cars. We hope to gain consent to republish their reviews shortly. Ford Ka Video Review – 2010 to 2014 models

The original Ford Ka was much loved for its cute looks, funky interior and entertaining handling, yet this second-generation model feels more straight-laced and less fun. It shares many of its mechanical parts with the Fiat 500: in fact, they’re built in the same factory. There are two engines, one petrol and one diesel, while a wide range of trim levels offers plenty of scope for personalisation — including some crazy looking stickers. Entry models aren’t very well equipped as standard, but flagship versions are luxurious

Ka+ Video Review by CarBuyer

Ford has replaced the competent but uninspiring Ka city car with the larger, more appealing Ka+. Being based on the current Fiesta ensures the Ford Ka+ is an enjoyable car to drive, while a relatively tall stance means it’s impressively practical, too. It’s just a shame its engine has to be worked quite hard to make progress and the interior isn’t quite up to the standards of the Fiesta. But we can forgive it that, as it’s costs very little to buy
