The Renault Clio started it’s life way back in 1990 when Renault changed the name of the popular Renault 5 to the Clio. Replacing the Renault 5 was a daunting task – the former having sold nearly 6 million vehicles in 18 years – but the Clio was well received and became a huge success. The Clio has always been available as either a 3 door or 5 day hatchback. Now in it’s 5th generation (8 including “facelifts”) the Renault Clio goes from strength to strength

Renault Clio hatchback 2005 – 2012 review – CarBuyer
If you can’t find a Renault Clio to suit you then you’re not looking hard enough. The French rival to Ford’s Fiesta is offered in either three- or five-door body styles, with the choice of engines encompassing everything from an inexpensive 75bhp 1.2-litre petrol choice, to a feisty 2.0-litre sporting flagship with 200bhp. All offer practicality and space, even the three-door model is comfortable for four adults. The 1.2-litre TCe with 100bhp provides the best mix of performance and economy, while Dynamique trim brings desirable equipment like air conditioning as standard

Renault Clio hatchback 2013 review – CarBuyer
The Renault Clio is now into its fourth generation, and this latest version is more stylish than ever. Unlike the previous model, it’s only available as a five-door, but hidden rear handles give it a sporty three-door profile — the best of both worlds. The interior has also been overhauled, with a striking new centre console that features a seven-inch, tablet-like screen, but material quality on the doors and dashbaord is passable at best. To make the Clio your own, a vast array of colours and personalisation options are available, both inside and out. Two engines — an enthusiastic 89bhp three-cylinder 900cc TCe petrol engine and a 1.5-litre dCi diesel with CO2 emissions of only 83g/km — are brand new additions to the range
